46" W. Oriental Black Lacquer Buffet Inlaid with Mother of Pearl

With over 28 Years of experience in Chinese black lacquer furniture we are so thrilled with this moderately sized cabinet. Over seven coats of black lacquer are applied to a hand made wooden cabinet in the Ming tradition of furniture making. Simple horse hoof feet are hand carved of solid wood and then carefully lacquered and hand painted. Mother of pearl (Abalone Seashell) is carved and added to create this magnificent cabinet. The cabinet works in any room where storage is needed, with 3 doors and shelf behind the doors and 3- felt lined drawers. Also included is a glass top. These have been used as entertainment centers, bars, buffets and hall chests. Modern black with gold and silver borders are hand painted on the frame of this chest while the panels are a rich assortment of primary pastel colors.
