Chinese Antique beech wood tray. We found these in rural northern China, they are about 60 to 80 years old. They have a wonderful hand rubbed lacquer patina that was achieved by multiple layers and fine sanding in between lacquer coats. We collected these when there, and had our Chinese craftsmen restore them. The typical size is 21 inches by 13 inches deep by 2 inches high. No two are alike so we can provide photos of our current stock, You may consider more than one to create a unusual collection. They have a wonderful simplicity about them. These trays are still in use today in rural China.
