The movie 'The Brutalist' inspired us to explore a captivating design that harmoniously blends Asian aesthetics with the powerful influence of brutalism. Brutalism in interior design is a bold, raw style that draws from the mid-20th-century architectural movement. It embodies simplicity, honesty in materials, and a striking elegance.
Raw materials are the essence of this approach. Exposed concrete (béton brut), steel, brick, and unfinished wood are signature elements. Surfaces remain unpainted or minimally treated to reveal their natural textures.
A monochromatic palette of greys, blacks, whites, and muted earth tones, carefully chosen to enhance the overall harmony, creates a sense of calm and balance. Bold forms are integral, featuring chunky, geometric furniture and architectural elements.
Clean lines and blocky structures leave a significant visual impression. Below, we have hand-selected four bathroom designs that embrace this mix perfectly, keeping the identity of each style intact.
