Guanyin is the Buddhist Bodhisattva associated with compassion. In the East Asian world, Guanyin is the equivalent term for Avaolokiteshvara Bodhisattva. Guanyin also refers to the Bodhisattva as adopted by other Eastern religions. The expression of Enlightened Bodhisattva Deity is not limited by form, face or name. The names and forms visualized tune into our own personal perspective on Enlightened Compassion. The faces and manifestations of compassion, of Avalokiteshvara as we said comes in many forms: father (4 armed Chenrezig), mother (Guanyin or Tara), warrior (Mahakala), king (Hayagriva), or all of these, embodied in 1000-armed, 11-faced Avaolokiteshvara.
